Step into the world of Anil Gamini Jayasuriya, a dynamic artist whose work transcended stylistic conventions to express a deep sense of emotion and curiosity.

Presented through the lens of family and friends who had the privilege of knowing Anil, the exhibition offers an intimate look at Anil’s sense of observation, ingenious explorations of media and a constant sense of curiosity which is evident in the multitude of works that have been brought together for the very first time in a timely celebration of Anil’s 80th birthday anniversary.

This exhibition is presented by the Ena de Silva Foundation with venue support from Barefoot Gallery.

Imagining New Natures: Collaborations with Ena

As the centenary celebrations of Ena de Silva come to a close, a new exhibition of her work ‘Imagining New Natures – Collaborations with Ena,' delves into the world of textile and batik design in Sri Lanka through the lens of Ena de Silva and her artistic partners.

The exhibition spotlights Ena's work, with a strong emphasis on her collaborative approach to creativity. It explores the early stages of her career and presents collections created in collaboration with Anil Gamini Jayasuriya, Laki Senanayake, Ismeth Raheem, Hema Dharmasena, and Padmini Jayasinghe. These works, showcased together for the first time, illustrate how their collective efforts and experimentation with form and technique led to the creation of a new style of batik that challenged the histories of textiles.
